Company Profile

Luoquan Peninsula Tourist Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, located on the east bank of Erhai Lake in Dali. It is the largest peninsula among the many islands in Erhai Lake, facing Dali Ancient Town across the lake.

Luoquan Peninsula Tourist Area is the best place to enjoy the scenery of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. Developed from the original Tianjing Pavilion Scenic Area, the scenic area boasts beautiful and simple natural scenery, fresh air, and attractions including Tianjing Pavilion, Guanyin Pavilion, Luoquan Pagoda, Luoquan Temple, Taizi Pavilion Baxian Building, and Shimulozi.

During the Tang Dynasty's Tianbao War, Nanzhao twice defeated the Tang army, and Luoquan Master made significant contributions. King Ge Luofeng of Nanzhao bestowed the east cliff area upon Luoquan Master. Since then, the peninsula and the temples and pagodas on the island have been named "Luoquan," a name that has remained unchanged for a thousand years, demonstrating its profound heritage. Luoquan Peninsula is most famous for its temple, pavilion, and pagoda: Luoquan Temple, Guanyin Pavilion, and Luoquan Pagoda. Luoquan Temple and Pagoda have been destroyed and rebuilt several times. The rebuilt Luoquan Pagoda retains its main features of a square eaves and no top, with the compassionate images of Luoquan Master on its four sides. An elevator is available inside the pagoda, allowing visitors to ascend and enjoy panoramic views of the lake and mountains. Among the four famous pavilions of Erhai Lake, Tianjing Pavilion is the most renowned. Although the current Tianjing Pavilion lacks the perilous charm of being by the sea, its high corridors and wide spaces offer a broader view from above. Guanyin Pavilion and Tianjing Pavilion were originally part of a single temple, complementing each other. Their beautiful scenery and unique Bai ethnic Buddhist esoteric Guanyin culture attract tourists from home and abroad. On the 19th of the second and ninth lunar months, a Guanyin festival is held here, attracting devotees from a hundred miles around to worship Guanyin and pray for blessings and disaster relief. Luoquan Peninsula Tourist Area features a 600-meter-long water slide, the first in western Yunnan, known as "High Mountain Drifting." Located in the valleys of Luoquan Peninsula, it follows the terrain's ups and downs. Riding special rubber boats down the stream, visitors seem to travel through canyons, experiencing the beautiful jungle scenery of Luoquan Peninsula in the fast and slow currents, receiving a baptism from nature, stimulating and wonderful.

   Geographical Location

By land, it is about 20 kilometers from the Xiguan Railway Station, the capital of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, 3 kilometers from the Haidong exit of the Dali-Lijiang Expressway, and 15 kilometers from Dali Airport. The Erhai Lake Ecological Landscape Avenue runs through the tourist area, making transportation very convenient.

   Human History

Since the Han and Tang dynasties, Luoquan Peninsula has left behind many historical and cultural sites. The allusion of "Han Xi Lou Chuan" in the long couplet of Daguan Tower originates from here. Sima Xiangru also left the couplet: "This water can be worth ten thousand soldiers, while the ancients only had three thousand guests." During the Tang Tianbao War, Nanzhao twice defeated the Tang army, and Luoquan Master made significant contributions. King Ge Luofeng of Nanzhao bestowed the east cliff area upon Luoquan Master, who built a temple here to preach. Since then, the peninsula and the temples and pagodas on the island have been named "Luoquan," a name that has remained unchanged for a thousand years, demonstrating its profound heritage.

Dali's beauty lies in Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. In 1941, Lao She visited Dali's west side of the lake and commented on Erhai Lake in his "Dianxing Short Notes": "Erhai Lake is like a river, not a lake, it cannot make people gaze intently—it does not become a scene." However, in 1961, Guo Moruo visited the Luoquan Peninsula waters in the east of Dali and was moved by the magnificent view of Erhai Lake and the touching legend of "Wangfu Cloud," writing the famous poem, beginning with: "Erhai Lake is truly like a sea." The reason for the change from Lao She's "river" to Guo Moruo's "sea" is the difference in the location from which they viewed the scenery of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake. Luoquan Peninsula is undoubtedly the best location to view the scenery of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake in the east of the lake.

   Scenic Area Facilities
